COVID-19: Special visitor informations

The Papiliorama Foundation has taken all the necessary precautions for a safe visit with a comprehensive protection concept.

  •  The maximum number of visitors present at Papiliorama at any one time is limited to 500. There may be waiting times in front of the entrance.
  • The counter on the homepage of the website shows the number of visitors in real time.
  • Masks are compulsory for visitors aged 12 and above in the indoor and outdoor areas (masks are sold at cost price at the entrance).
  • The indoor restaurant area remains closed for the time being. Seating is only available on the outdoor terrace.
  • Mandatory registration of contact details via the “Mindful” app on the restaurant terrace.
  • Once seated at a table on the terrace, the mask can be removed. The restaurant offer is limited due to the situation. Max. 4 persons per table.
  • Hand disinfectant is available at many locations in the visitor buildings.
  • Staff regularly disinfect all doors, toilets, tables, etc.
  • To stay informed about a possible COVID-19 case, install the Confederation’s SwissCovid app.

Public Transport

Train station «Kerzers Papiliorama». The entrance to Papiliorama is located 80m from the train station.


The Papiliorama is located near the Seeland Vegetable Trail and at the intersection of the regional cycle routes 94 (L’Areuse-Emme-Sihl) and 44 (Le Jorat-Trois Lacs-Emme).

Access is possible via paved, traffic-free paths. A bicycle parking lot is available under the visitors’ entrance.


Highway Yverdon-Bern, Exit Kerzers. Follow the signs in the direction of Lyss. Papiliorama is located around 0.7 km outside of Kerzers, next to the main road.

Papiliorama Anfahrt


A parking lot run by the commune of Kerzers is available in front of the Papiliorama entrance. Price: CHF 4.- per car, to be paid at the entrance. You will receive a coin.

Jungle Restaurant

The Jungle Restaurant offers a wide range of cold and hot homemade dishes, as well as drinks, desserts and snacks.

Picnics are allowed in the designated zone, as well as on the outside premises.

Upon Reservation, we organize coffee and croissants or aperitifs for your group visits.


In our beautiful shop we offer you a wide range of nature related products: books, toys, clothes, jewellery, handicrafts, specialities and much more. There is something for every taste and every price range.

By the way, you can also shop in our shop without visiting the exhibitions.



Dogs are not allowed in the exhibits and visitors facilities. This is also valid for guide dogs. On the one hand dogs can be a stress factor for the animals living within the exhibits and on the other hand these animals can also be dangerous for dogs.

For dogs there is a “Dog Hotel” under the entrance bridge. The large enclosures are equipped with a water dish. This service is free of charge, however a deposit of CHF 20.- is requested when picking up the key at the reception.
